Today’s entry from the Lightvessel archives:

Lustmord’s alchemic miracle “The Word As Power”.

In 2013 Blackest Ever Black - a label sorely missed - indulged us virtually every month with phenomenal releases. Among Prurient, Tropic of Cancer, Cut Hands, and Regis there was Lustmord's album, which remains his most remarkable opus.

The characteristic, slow-paced diffusion of acoustic magic into the listener’s environment by focusing on only a few acoustic elements is also the present groundwork on “The Word As Power”. But for the widespread use of vocals, the album unfolds a very own dynamic which sets the release apart from previous Lustmord works. While still an introvert, at times bittersweet and in every moment most meditative wayfare, the album ascends to an overwhelming, dazzling listening experience when played on bigger soundsystems.

En passant, the vinyl artwork (by Simon Fowler) perfectly adds further suspense to the uncertainty, whether these meditations are ancient or future rituals.
